I have 2319 things to blog, but I’ve been busy with, well, life. Anyway, for something a bit different today, I’ll highlight a musician/band whose third record dropped into shops this week. Who may you ask? Why, the lovely Frank Turner. He’s a lovely englishman with a special voice and talent. He once fronted a fantastic English punk band but he’s since gone solo with his own brand of acoustic folk music that has a hint of punk attitude. His first Full length record was Sleep Is For the Week, which was a wonderful collection. His sophomore record Love, Ire & Song is nothing short of brilliant. It’s been a big year for Frank, being signed to Epitaph (fan-frickin-tastic label), supporting Offspring playing massive arenas, sold out headlining tour in UK, and I could go on and on. This week he released his third full length record, Poetry For The Deed, which on first few listens is excellent. I’m still drawn to his second record, but I’ve only has this new one in my hands for a few days so I have to give it a bit of time. If you haven’t checked him out yet, please do (myspace has music to listen to for free, hint hint). Not only is he a fantastic musician, but he truly is a nice guy. He’s actually starting another USA tour right now, supporting Gaslight Anthem, so check out the tour dates and see if you can catch him performing live somewhere near you. I’ll have to miss out on this tour, shame.

One of these days soon, I’ll get around to blogging some images from his latest USA tour but until then, here’s his newest video, The Road. This is the first single from the new record. It was a crazy idea he had for the video, and actually accomplished it. He did 24 shows in 24 hours around London, and taped them all for this video. It’s awesome (ok, I’m biased, as I know these people).
